Questions for us? We’re here to help! From making appointments to ordering your gown learn everything you need to know about shopping for wedding dresses in Worthing/Brighton at The Wedding Boutique.

Do I need to have an appointment to try on wedding dresses?
Yes, we prefer that you make an appointment so we can ensure one of our bridal stylists is available to assist you. An appointment will also guarantee you a private fitting room and seating for your guests. To make an appointment you can email us on info@theweddingboutique.co.uk or call us on 01903204848.

How long will my appointment last?
Each bridal appointment is 90 minutes long. This allows you enough time to browse through our wedding dresses with your stylist, try on six to eight gowns, narrow down your selection and make an educated decision on which dress is “the one.” We never want you to feel rushed, which is why we’ve allocated a full hour and a half for your appointment.

What is the price range of the dresses at your store?
We have a wide variety of prices here at the wedding boutique. Our Sample Sale wedding dresses start at £299 – £800. Our full price wedding dresses start at £1100 – £2600. Your stylist will work closely with you to ensure we stay within your budget.

What happens when i find my dream dress?                                                                                                                                            When you find your dream dress with us here at The Wedding Boutique, we will take you through the ordering process, this will start with measuring you and using our size guides to find your perfect size. You will read through our terms and conditions and you will pay a 50% deposit at this stage. We will order your gown. The month before your gown arrives into store you will pay the remaining balance.

Who/what should I bring with me to my appointment?
Most of our brides have success bringing anywhere from 1 to 4 guests to accompany them on their search, but we would love for you to bring whoever’s opinions you value and trust the most. (we do not recommend you bring small children as there is not room for them to walk/play/run around in the Boutique, but we do leave this to your discretion, but ask that you adhere to this.) As for things to bring, an appropriate set of undergarments is always useful and any heels of your choice (we also supply a pair of dressing room heels if need be).

What designers do you carry?
We carry the wedding dress designers Martina Liana, La Sposa by Pronovias and Sophia Tolli. We are proud to be the only wedding dress store in West Sussex to carry Martina Liana. We also stock the Sorella Vita bridesmaids dress range and the Gino Cerutti prom dress range.

Can I buy a wedding dress off the rack?
Most of our gowns are for ordering only, however we do have a sample sale section of wedding dresses in which can be bought off the rack.

What size wedding dresses do you have in store?
We have a wide variety of sizes in store, our wedding dresses range from sizes 8 – 16. Our bridesmaid dresses range from sizes 12 – 22. And our prom dresses range from sizes 8 – 14. We use garment pegs to further fit the gowns if it is an incorrect size to you, this way all shapes and sizes are able to see how a gown can fit in the correct size.

How long do wedding dresses take to come in after they are ordered?
It takes approximately 4 to 7 months for a dress to arrive, so please take that into consideration when scheduling your appointment. Once the dress arrives, you want to allow 1 to 2 months for alterations. We ideally recommend beginning the wedding dress shopping process nine months to one year prior to your wedding date so you can avoid rush fees and enjoy the experience! If you are unsure if you will be able to order a gown through our store due to a shorter engagement, we invite you to give us a call, so we can talk through some of our various rush-shipping options in more detail.

Are alterations included in the cost of the dress?
Alterations are an additional charge. Nearly all wedding dresses require a hem, a bustle and additional tailoring through the bust or straps to achieve the perfect fit. Some brides even use alterations to customize sleeves, straps, necklines and other details. Alteration prices will vary from gown to gown. We have wonderful seamstresses here at The Wedding Boutique, who will quote you for any alterations needed.

What do i need to bring to my first alteration fitting?                                                                                                                    To your first fitting with our seamstress you will need to bring the pair of shoes you are wearing on your wedding day, as the hem of the dress will be altered according to the height of your wedding shoes. Any undergarments you are planning to wear under your wedding dress. At this appointment we recommend that you do not bring a big bridal party along, save that for your  final fit.

What do i need to bring to my final alteration fitting?                                                                                                                   To your final alteration fitting, we recommend that you bring all of the above plus any accessories that you will be wearing on the day (veils, tiaras etc). Also bring along any bridal party you would like to involve, it is a good idea to bring the person that will be dressing you on the day so they can take notes/video how to do up the dress appropriately.

What happens when my dress arrives?                                                                                                                                         When your dress arrives in store we will call you and book you in within the first 10 days of its arrival for an informal trying on if your time allows. If we are short on time for your wedding date we will book you in with our seamstress asap. We do not store gowns as we simply do not have the space and you will be asked to take your gown home if you are not starting alterations immediately. In the time that you are doing alterations, the seamstress will store your gown at her studio.
